JW Young 3 1/2" Pattern 1 red agate fly reelFor sale here is a 3 JW Youngs Pattern 1 made for Ogden Smith. 90% of leading is intact; foot is original and unmolested; neat little bottle shaped handle, no undue spindle play. Dark red agate in good order. This reel ships from our UK office. REF 0299

The individual elements are manufactured of high-strength aluminum
the rod actually measures 8' 5 1/8" in length - made that way
who apprenticed under Tom Maxwell late in Tom's life and ended up with many rods such as this one from Tom's personal collection
Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall
which I believe corresponds to a build date of November 1999
The ferrule size is 11/64 and there's a "3" stamped into both male and female ferrule
