Meerlust Rubican Vintages 2017Meerlust Rubicon is the flagship wine of this Stellenbosch estate. Owned by the Myburgh family since 1756 and now run by the eighth generation. Rubicon was first made in 1984 and is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Bordeaux blend and only made in vintages deemed good enough and has been declassified to Merrlust Red in five vintages. Typical Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level in neck.

The nose is immediately very aromatic and feels like classic Bordeaux varieties showing celery seed

whilst not as great as 1961
