50’s Black Feathered Derby Hat

50’s Black Feathered Derby Hat1950's black wool felt derby with a slightly flaring front brim, narrow on the sides and minute on the back. No hatband just a layer of thick veiling from side to side. Left front holds a self bow and holder with black feathers rising toward the front. Interior edges are wire and it is finished with a narrow black grosgrain ribbon. No label. Excellent condition other than the veiling is damaged and cannot be worn down. Inner circumference is 22

He then went to London where he designed for Andre Peters in 1968 and 1969

Tag states a 42-44 but meant to be oversized

The crowning glory of this hat is the back bow which is crafted of white netting and narrow strips of black straw braid
