The flowers open bright yellow with red markings at the base

The tube rises cleanly with fine veining visible throughout its length

with pronounced dark purple veins concentrated in the upper half

where its parent species hail from

The veining can be dense

Its most recognisable feature is its wide

creating a subtle network against the bright green background

heavier structure of purpurea
