Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Stag Crested Cake Basket, circa 1770 - 1780.Georgian, George III, Old Sheffield Plate Crested Cake Basket, circa 1770 1780. Raised on an oval peirced foot with an ornate beaded swing handle, beaded rim and intricate hand sawn pierced decoration throughout. The main surface features a crest of a stag with its head lowered. In excellent order with no damage to the pierced decoration. The basket has been replated. Slight distortion to the oval foot. Light surface wear commensurate with age.
Approximate weight is 785 grams or 25 troy ounces
The borders are finely gadrooned and the teapot is raised on a rectangular pedestal foot
