Its buoyant and vibrant, with immediately gratifying appeal, though not at the expense of depth or complexity. The palate is suave, seductive and open, with red cherry, strawberry, red plum and five spice. A fleshy and fulsome wine with a great balance of fruit weight and power

but this elegant red also shows tremendous grip

it does suggest that we may have a wine that is not fully harmonious when the tannins are fully resolved

A tightly wound

unusual in the schist

The acidity is there to enable this to round into form

Pinot Noir juices—typically macerated for 48 to 72 hours—are co-fermented with Chardonnay musts

vivacious red berry nose infused with ash and cigar box aromas

it has a rock-solid frame and grainy texture

clay and sandy soils

The wine slides into a long-winding finish that continues to evolve for more than a minute after the wine has left the palate

the granularity of the tannins is extremely small

resin and petrol aromas lead to unusually sleek middle weight flavors in the context of what is typical for Morgeot and this sense of refinement also characterizes the nicely detailed and lingering finale
