Flamingo! (original drawing)I had this idea while I was working on my sugar skull drawing. And at the time I had just drawn a few flamingos for my day job and had flamingos on the brain. So I decided to do a little art therapy and draw a flamingo in my style of drawing. I wanted textures and patterns to be an emphasis in this piece also. I really like the  contrast in textures and color that I achieved with this piece

It was too much fun and helped me develop my process

I combined African and Australian tribal patterns for the background to help accentuate the origin mythology

39" wide x 48" tall with the frame

The team didn't like it and wanted something with greek soldiers on a ship

I think it gives it an appropriately frenetic feel

I used what my daughter calls scribble scrabble for the texture of the Rhino

I like to depict my subject with unusual texture I wanted to add a texture that would illustrate the treacherous nature of luck
