Paul Young Para 15 Bamboo Rod 8' 2/2For sale here is a Paul H. Young Para 15 bamboo rod. Built circa 1949, 8', 2 2, 4 oz. nickel silver cap and ring, Ritz cigar grip, golden lemon wraps. Lettered in PHY's handwriting on three flats, First flat: 8' 4 oz. "Parabolic 15" Second flat: Paul H. Young Co. Detroit Maker Third flat: H. D. G. or H. D. H. The rod is in excellent plus condition. The ferrule size is 15 64 and the ferrule fit is perfect. All cork reel seat with nickel silver die
The spool/spindle fit is good
The Ibis sea trout / light salmon / steelhead rod was only made between 1963 and 1965
The grip features a thumb and a palm indentation
2 7/8" diameter
The heavier tip produces a slightly slower action
3 1/2" diameter with an inner spool width of 1"
The handle is made with birch bark with olive wood inserts
Golden brown wraps with black tipping
The rod has three sections with three tips
this one is in quite good cosmetic condition retaining very much of its wartime black paint
99% original oxidation
