It is a hazelnut chocolate treat created in Torino, Italy when Napoleon blocked trade with the British and created a glut in the cocoa supplies of that chocolate loving city. Being resourceful, they turned to hazelnuts, in which they were wallowing, to stretch out the limited cocoa supply.
