Hammer - painted handleSo why paint the wooden handle of a hammer? I've always liked those wooden rowing boat oars you see mounted on people's walls originally they were trophies, painted up as a momento of a great race win. I then saw a couple of American companies producing amazing axes with painted handles. Apparently the origin of painting axe handles was to allow lumberjacks to mark their own axes whilst out in the forest. It also makes them easier to spot when laid on

You have a choice of either Ball Pein or Claw and both are 16oz - the ideal weight for general duties

Made in Japan from pressed steel and painted in Trusco's signature blue

This means two things - firstly it's useful that the same apron fits both of us (I'm 6ft 3 and Lou is 5ft 5) as we can adjust it to fit

but in our testing it's hardly noticeable
