Handmade 'Firewheel' Cards - Box of 3 - by Carolyn CabenaA collection of three square cards 15 x 15cm presented in a boutique box. Each unique card with envelope is created from mini assemblages of pressed leaves and flowers collected from walks around my region in Sydney. Assembled under gauze this is the 'Firewheel' collection There is a blank insert inside each card and envelope enclosed in cellaphane bag Box 17 x 17cm with 3 cards

The design is drawn on with gutta - a mixture of paraffin wax and rubber cement - and acts as a barrier to the dyes

Hand wash in cool water with wool detergent

shawls and scarves these screens are printed with a resist onto natural silk velvet and then dyed in vibrant colours to show the sheer

Shibori is a technique of resist using blocks to create a precise geometric design by discharging the dye on a silk geogette

I finished it and hand hemmed all four edges
