Connetable Talbot Vintage 1996The second wine of Chateau Talbot, which for the last century has been owned by Cordier Family The chteau takes its name from the Conntable Talbot, whom this wine is named after, an English soldier and governor of Guyenne who was defeated in battle by the French at Castillon in 1453. The 1996 vintage was good for the region. Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot. 75cl bottle. 12% ABV Bottle condition, Capsule good, label good, wine

The wine was created in 1996 by Alceo's children in honour of his passing

Perfect as an aperitif and an excellent companion to seafood

each offering something a little different

capsule a little faded

with an intense dark grapiness (a lower note than the ‘89)

and the grapes are partially destemmed before spending a year in new and used French oak

which was bought by Haut-Brion's owners in the early 1980s
